Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Voyplan ("we", "us"), a service operated by Knockout Media AS, collects and uses personal data when you use our website and trip-planning service. We are committed to data minimisation: we store as little about you as we can.

Who is responsible

What we collect

• Account data: your email address and an encrypted password, handled by our authentication provider.
• Trip-planning inputs: number of adults, children's age groups (age ranges only — never names or other identifying details), interests, budget level, season and destination.
• Generated trip plans you create and save.
• Outbound-click data: when you click an affiliate link, we log which provider and category you clicked, and when, so we can measure referrals.
• Newsletter sign-ups: if you submit your email on our landing page, we store only that email address.

Children

Our service is intended for adults planning trips. We deliberately store information about children only as age groups (e.g. "toddler", "teen") and interests — never names or any other identifying information.

How we use your data

• To provide the service: create your account, generate and save your trip plans.
• To generate plans and tips, your trip inputs are sent to our AI provider for processing (see "Processors" below).
• To measure affiliate referrals and improve the service.
• To let you know when features are ready, if you signed up for that.

Legal basis (GDPR)

We process account and trip data to perform our contract with you (providing the service). Newsletter sign-ups rely on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time. Affiliate-referral measurement relies on our legitimate interest in operating a sustainable service.

Processors and third parties

• Supabase — database and authentication (hosted in the EU).
• Anthropic — AI processing to generate your trip plans (your trip inputs are sent for this purpose).
• Netlify — website hosting.
• Resend — email delivery, only for emails you request (your plan by email, price alerts).
• Affiliate partners — only when you choose to click an outbound link and continue on their site, where their own privacy policies apply.

Some of these providers may process data outside your country; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses) apply.

Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on our own site. When you click an affiliate link, the partner's site may set its own cookies — see their policies.

Data retention

We keep your account and trip data until you ask us to delete it or delete your account. You can request deletion at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or port your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email hi@voyplan.net. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (in Norway, Datatilsynet).

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
